We need your input! The deadline has been extended for a regional workforce analysis currently underway and needs input from the New River Gorge region. The analysis will lead to strategic recommendations for enhancing the area’s workforce and better preparing workers to meet the challenges of the future.
Input from employers, economic development partners, educators, students, and the workforce at all levels will be a critical component of the project and vital to its success.
Appalachian Power, Robert C. Byrd Institute, and the West Virginia Development Office are partnering to conduct the workforce analysis for a 23-county region of West Virginia. It will include an in-depth analysis of the area workforce assets and challenges, future employment trends, education/training programs, and transferable skills and compatible occupations for the unemployed and underemployed workforce, many of whom previously worked in the mining, wood and paper, chemicals and plastics, transportation, and metals and machinery sectors.
Please go to http://boyette-sa.west-virginia-employer-survey.sgizmo.com/s3/ to complete the survey. If you have already completed the survey, thank you! The survey is being conducted by the consulting group Boyette Strategic Advisors. All information will remain confidential and no individual responses will be shared. You can find more information about the project at WestVirginiaWIN.org or check out this brief video.
If you have questions about the survey or the project you can reach out to Reteisha Byrd at byrd@boyette-sa.com or 501.604.6121.
