Opportunity Appalachia Program Launch Webinar

Please join us to learn about Opportunity Appalachia, a new effort to bring Opportunity Zone investment to communities in Appalachian Ohio, Southwest Virginia, and West Virginia on Monday, December 9th, 2019. The webinar is scheduled to start at 2:00pm with opening speaker Tim Thomas, Appalachian Regional Commission Federal Co-Chair.

Who Should Attend

Community leaders, local economic developers, real estate developers, business owners, investors, banks, business support organizations, universities/community colleges, members of the philanthropic sector, and any other parties interested in attracting business and real estate investments to areas designated as Opportunity Zones.

About the Webinar

The new Opportunity Zone (OZ) tax program has the potential to provide billions of dollars of new investment to OZ-designated communities throughout the nation.

We are anticipating that substantial investments will be put into urban communities across the nation. Partners in West Virginia, Ohio, and Virginia are working to support rural communities so that they are better positioned to take advantage of this opportunity through a collaborative effort called Opportunity Appalachia.

Webinar participants will:

  • Learn about new financial support and technical assistance available to develop OZ transactions in your community.
  • Learn about new assistance to bring OZ financing to rural Appalachia and identify OZ investors within the region.
  • Learn how your community, project, or business can access this new support.
