The Power of Partnerships

Recently, the New River Gorge Regional Development Authority announced the establishment of the NRG Wayfinding Team, a collaborative effort between the NRGRDA and a number of community partners that will focus on maximizing community and economic development opportunities in Gateway Communities to the New River Gorge National Park and Preserve. 

On another, current project, the NRGRDA is working with Raleigh County Memorial Airport and Region 1 Planning and Development Council to conduct site development for the new 105-acre industrial complex at the airport. 

These are just two unique examples that highlight how the NRGRDA utilizes partnerships to fulfill our purpose to initiate, facilitate, and support the community and economic development efforts within the New River Gorge region. Our partners range from business and economic development agencies, chambers of commerce, county commissions, educational institutions and more.

We have worked with these partners on site feasibility studies, comprehensive strategic plans, industry trainings, and other projects and initiatives such as PATTERN – Planning and Accelerating Textile Technology and Entrepreneurship Regional Network Softline Textiles Lab, Opportunity Appalachia, Active SWV – Workforce Wellness and Outdoor NRG. We know that collaboration is the key to success, and that we are stronger together than we are apart. That is why the NRGRDA operates in the way that we do — non-traditionally within a collaborative ecosystem of supporting programs. Without the partnerships that we have developed, what we do would not be possible, and we are sincerely grateful for the truly regional approach these organizations bring to each and every initiative. Together, we can create a more vibrant economy for our region!
