In a recent news report from WOAY, excitement over the announcement of grants to help expand infrastructure around the Raleigh County Memorial Airport has set the stage for next steps in the development process. A total of $8.4M is estimated to fund the project to develop 105 acres, but more funding is anticipated.
The overall goal is more business opportunities for the area. “We want to look at the aerospace as a whole and what potential manufacturing companies and even distribution companies are out there interested in locating in an industrial park that is adjacent to an existing runway,” stated NRGRDA Deputy Director Jina Belcher.
