Fayette County Votes to Accept Medical Cannabis Act

Yesterday, the Fayette County Commission voted unanimously to accept the Medical Cannabis Act that the West Virginia Legislature signed into law in 2017.

This is great news for the New River Gorge area! Fayette County is the second county in our region to accept the Medical Cannabis Act. Raleigh County was the first. Both counties have extended their welcome to growers, processors, and distributors of medical marijuana. While the Medical Cannabis Act puts limitations on the number of the number of permits that will be sold (the law will allow 10 growers, 10 processors, and 100 distributors to set up shop within the state) we predict that this will bring new jobs and development to the area. We’re excited and hopeful that medical cannabis companies will choose our region to set up shop.
