LAURA MESSER

Laura Messer, a dedicated professional deeply connected to Southern West Virginia, is a proud WV native with a diverse background in non-profit and local collaboration. Joining the NRGRDA team in January 2024 as the Industry Attraction Coordinator, she focuses on working with the NRG Regional Working Group—a collaboration of regional stakeholders concentrating on NRG opportunities, particularly in infrastructure projects. Graduating with a B.A. in Sociology from Concord University in 2012, Laura’s well-rounded perspective enriches her role.
 
Formerly at WVU Institute of Technology, Laura’s commitment began in 2017 as an AmeriCorps VISTA, later becoming the Coordinator of Service and Outreach in 2019, leaving a lasting impact on both the university and its surroundings.
 
Residing in Raleigh County with her husband and dog, Jester, Laura finds joy in life’s simple pleasures. Beyond her professional pursuits, she enjoys crafting, nurturing her plant collection, and immersing herself in a good book, showcasing her caring and creative spirit. Laura’s dedication to community development reflects a sincere desire to enhance the prosperity of her beloved home region. As the Industry Attraction Coordinator, Laura Messer, with her diverse non-profit background and education, remains a driving force in shaping the New River Gorge region’s future.
