The downtown area of Richwood, WV is experiencing a surge of renovation activity. Recently, a family offered a main street property, that has been venue to a variety of businesses over the years, to the Richwood Building Commission. The commission accepted the conveyance while the Richwood Chamber secured a $40,000 grant from the Collins Companies Foundation. That grant money will provide funding for rehabilitation of the building. The building has four store fronts and is need of a roof replacement and utility upgrades. The Main Street Association’s goal is to provide four viable properties that could be utilized for commercial enterprise, and prompt an increase in downtown area traffic.
