New Leadership For Entrepreneurs In Southern WV

This week the New River Gorge Regional Development Authority (NRGRDA) celebrates the new leadership of its West Virginia HIVE Network initiative. As of November 15, former HIVE Business Advisor, Judy Morris-Moore, took the helm of the entrepreneur-focused initiative.  The WV HIVE Network serves a twelve county region of southern West Virginia through one-on-one business advising, technical assistance grants, start-up education, social enterprise guidance, as well as access to software and equipment often inaccessible to start-ups in the region. Her professional and entrepreneurial experience and leadership will provide local start-ups, business owners, and future entrepreneurs a personal champion for regional and state-wide support.

Judy is a graduate of Nicholas County High School where she began a journey that has led to more than 30 years of managing non-profits, directing nationwide programs, crafting projects, and utilizing grants. Her bachelor’s degree in Digital Design and Visual Communications accompanied by her master’s degree in Integrated Marketing Communications has primed her to lead the initiative that will foster an emerging entrepreneur economy. In this Director role, Judy will focus on establishing partnerships and alliances that provide increased access to resources for businesses and entrepreneurs. She will work with her team of Business Advisors, support network, and funders to bring about more effective and efficient means through which regional entrepreneurs can operate successful establishments.

She expresses that she is “really energized by the support and efforts around the state to support entrepreneurial progress. It’s time to put local business first, and I’m honored to be in a position to steer that progression in partnership with the NRGRDA.” Judy will hold office space in both Beckley and Summersville in order to most effectively serve the needs of the twelve county region of southern West Virginia. She can be contacted via email at JMoore@NRGRDA.org and by phone at (304) 669-4870.
