On January 1st, NRGRDA Community Development Agent and WVSU Extension Agent, Stacy Ford, took the helm of the Hinton Area Foundation’s (HAF) Board of Directors. Her two year term kicks off as the Foundation is fostering a revitalized energy and connection with the communities they serve. Along with Stacy, Kristi Scott joined the Board of Director ranks as the Vice President. Long-time community member, Scott, has already embraced the tall order of helping the HAF find prosperity and purpose in the months and years ahead.
Stacy Ford says she “hopes to grow community awareness of what the HAF does and how it benefits the community. Aside from the obvious scholarships and grants, local foundations can promote community development. As a lifelong resident of Summers County, I value what community actually means. I see the importance of giving back and understanding what your “ripple” can do. I would like for others to see that a community is only as successful as you help to make it and to become passionate about helping make the “Hinton Area” the best it can be.”
