Beckley Area Foundation ’17-’18 Grant

We’re thrilled to share with you that the NRGRDA, in partnership with Forward Southern West Virginia, is one of the recipients of the Beckley Area Foundation 2017-2018 Community Grants. The support they will provide, beginning April 2017, will support the growth of our prospect attraction program. The development of this aspect of our organization is vital to the connections with industry leaders, site selection agents, and influencers around the country that are imperative in helping the New River Gorge be considered in relocation and expansion decisions being made across the world, every day.

Before the grant’s deadline, in March 2018, the NRGRDA plans to coordinate at least eight business development visits with leading site consulting agencies focused on East Coast expansions and locations. Research shows that more than 90% of large, reputable companies hire these agencies and professionals years in advance of their anticipated project placement. By establishing a relationship with these firms before projects come up, we are able to expose our region’s benefits to their professionals, improving their perception of our business climate. We applaud the Beckley Area Foundation for their vision, supporting regional economic development, and creating setting a business-friendly tone for future development. We are honored to put their investment to work for the New River Gorge Region of West Virginia.
